Aboriginal Health Manager – Lead Meaningful Change and Strengthen Health Outcomes for Aboriginal Communities

Make a lasting impact by driving priority Aboriginal Health initiatives that support Closing the Gap outcomes and strengthen culturally safe, community-centred care across the Riverland Mallee Coorong region. This is your opportunity to lead system‑level change, build strong partnerships, and shape how health services support the wellbeing of Aboriginal people now and into the future.

About the Role

As the Aboriginal Health Manager, you will take a lead role in progressing key Aboriginal Health system projects that align with the Closing the Gap Agreement and SA Health’s strategic priorities. You will oversee the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of initiatives designed to improve the cultural appropriateness, effectiveness, and accessibility of services delivered by SA Health within RMCLHN.

Working collaboratively with leaders across RMCLHN and the Department for Health and Wellbeing, as well as Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations, community leaders and consumers, you will champion culturally informed approaches to care. Your work will support meaningful engagement, service improvements, and better health outcomes for Aboriginal people across the region.

You will represent RMCLHN in cross‑agency partnerships, provide expert advice, guide system reform efforts, and ensure that project outcomes are delivered to a high standard. Through strong leadership and relationship‑building, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening culturally safe practices and shaping future health service delivery.

  • Experience in a range of planning and project work involving both teamwork and individual effort and creative and innovative approaches in a health‑related area.
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal people and Aboriginal communities to resolve complex issues.
  • Experience in managing a multi‑disciplinary team.
