Salary: $21.57 - $32.72 hourly DOE (Maintenance Worker) • $23.49 - $35.65 hourly DOE (Equipment Operator I).

General Description:

Under close supervision from a crew leader, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled work in maintaining the parks, streets and power departments and divisions.

• Maintenance Worker:
  Six (6) months construction/laborer experience.
• Equipment Operator I:
  Two (2) years experience as a Maintenance Worker in Murray City operating the specified equipment or three (3) years of experience in construction as an equipment operator or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must be able to obtain a Utah Commercial Driver License within six (6) months of appointment.
• Must be able to obtain Flag Person Certification.
• Solid Waste:
  Must be able to obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicator license within six (6) months of appointment.
• May perform duties on trouble truck and must be generally available and respond to emergency call outs at any time of day, year-round, regardless of weather conditions.
• Equipment Operator I:
  Must pass equipment operation proficiency exam.
• Must possess a valid Utah Commercial Driver License.
• Must possess a valid UDOT Flagman Certification Card.
• Must possess a valid Traffic Control Technician Certification.

• Performs a wide variety of general maintenance and construction work using numerous hand and power tools.
• May train in and operate both light and heavy equipment.
• Threads pipe; mixes, pours and finishes cement; lays asphalt; maintains equipment upon request.
• May assist others in installing sprinkling systems; assists others in picking up trash in the parks; cleaning restrooms, assists others in mowing, trimming, and watering lawns.
• Patches street holes; rakes asphalt; shovels and sweeps debris in gutters; puts up and takes down street signs; paints streets; puts up and takes down cones.
• Performs related duties as required.
