Utility Pipe Layer

As a Utility Pipe Layer at JWright Companies
, you will be responsible for installing and repairing underground utility pipes for water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals to ensure that all installations meet industry standards and project specifications.

• Install, align, and connect pipes for water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
• Excavate trenches and ensure proper depth and grade for pipe installation.
• Measure and cut pipes to required lengths.
• Inspect and test installed pipes for leaks and other defects.
• Operate heavy equipment and machinery as needed.
• Utilize pipe lasers, transit, and grade rods to ensure accurate pipe alignment and grade.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work site.
• Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.

• Proven experience as a Utility Pipe Layer or similar role in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of pipe laying techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Familiarity with pipe lasers, transit, and grade rods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment.
