Overview
Murray City is now accepting applications for Maintenance Worker or Equipment Operator I (will fill based on experience).
Salary- Maintenance Worker: $21.57 - $32.72 hourly DOE
- Equipment Operator I: $23.49 - $35.65 hourly DOE

General DescriptionUnder close supervision from a crew leader, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled work in maintaining the parks, streets and power departments and divisions.
Minimum Requirements- Maintenance Worker
- Six (6) months construction/laborer experience.
- Special Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain a Utah Commercial Driver License within six (6) months of appointment.
- Must be able to obtain Flag Person Certification.
- Solid Waste:
Must be able to obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicator license within six (6) months of appointment. - May perform duties on trouble truck and must be generally available and respond to emergency "call outs" at any time of day, year-round, regardless of weather conditions.
- Equipment Operator I
- Two (2) years experience as a Maintenance Worker in Murray City operating the specified equipment or three (3) years of experience in construction as an equipment operator or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Special Requirements:
- Must pass equipment operation proficiency exam.
- Must possess a valid Utah Commercial Driver License.
- Must possess a valid UDOT Flagman Certification Card
- Must possess a valid Traffic Control Technician Certification
- May perform duties on trouble truck and must be generally available and respond to emergency "call outs" at any time of day, year-round, regardless of weather conditions.
- Performs a wide variety of general maintenance and construction work using numerous hand and power tools.
- May train in and operate both light and heavy equipment.
- Threads pipe; mixes, pours and finishes cement; lays asphalt; maintains equipment upon request.
- May assist others in installing sprinkling systems; assists others in picking up trash in the parks; cleaning restrooms, assists others in mowing, trimming, and watering lawns.
- Patches street holes; rakes asphalt; shovels and sweeps debris in gutters; puts up and takes down street signs; paints streets; puts up and takes down cones.
- Performs related duties as required.
