Job Purpose:

The Medical Oncologist/Hematologist will be responsible for managing the care and treatment of cancer patients.  The Medical Oncologist/Hematologist will work closely with center team members to implement treatment plans and monitor progress.

Major Responsibilities:
* Work with patients to discuss and understand treatment options and assist in managing the side effects and symptoms of the treatment.
* Communicate effectively with patients, families and center team members.
* Capable of handling stressful situations, making informed decisions and giving emotional support to patients and their families.
* Documenting and coordinating treatment plans for each patient.
* Evaluate and assess the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient’s response to treatment.
* Performing administrative tasks, such as keeping patients notes and records updated, writing prescriptions, providing education information to patients and monitoring treatment plans.
* Respond to patient and referring physician needs and concerns regarding patient’s treatment as expeditiously as possible.
* Attend any required clinic meetings.
* Promote cooperation and teamwork among other physicians and team members of the clinic.
* Comply with all credentialing, quality assurance and utilization review criteria that are adopted by the Company.
* Adhere to the company’s code of conduct and compliance program requirements.
* Comply with all rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding medical record documentation and coding accuracy standards, established by the Company.
* Maintain values consistent with the profession’s code of ethics and scope of practice as well as adhering to national, company standards, policies and procedures regarding treatment delivery and patient care.
* Participate in continuing education programs that are required to maintain clinical competency.
* Perform any other functions as required

Qualifications and Education Requirements
* MD or MD/PhD with medical training specifically in oncology and or hematology-oncology.
* Must be Board certified and/or Board eligible in hematology/oncology with a CA state license in good standing.
* If Board eligible, must be willing to take the boards and successfully pass within 12 months.
* Ability to interpret clinical, genomic and efficacy data.
* Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Through and up-to-date working knowledge of cancers and cancer treatment options.
* Technical skills to operate medical equipment and tools related to cancer treatment.
* Ability to effectively communicate with patients, technicians, fellow medical professionals and other clinic team members.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.

** Anticipated salary range:** $ 450,000 – $ 650,000 + productivity

The salary range listed is an estimate and is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
