1st Shift
- Position:
Production Supervisor II/III for the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Electronics Departments at the Murrysville manufacturing plant. Lead a team, ensuring safety, staffing, budgets, cost control, delivery, quality, ISO
9001, and continuous improvement. Report to the Production Manager and manage a team of skilled associates. - Production / Budgetary:
Develop and execute production plans by scheduling/assigning associates; establish priorities and track progress. - Revise schedules as needed and resolve issues to meet the plan; meet daily with Supply Chain to discuss material shortages and demand, and adjust as required.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual department budget and monitor results monthly; manage job-closeout variances.
- Collaborate with plant support groups (Human Resources, Safety, Maintenance, Industrial, Manufacturing, Test & Quality Engineering) as required.
- Drive Safety 24/7, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction initiatives; promote use of the MSA Operating System and MSA Business System.
- Manage equipment issues in the department and ensure timely repairs; participate in CI projects to improve delivery, cost, and quality for the Printed Circuit Board department.
- Provide recommendations on courses of action and follow through on approved actions; work with cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
- Employee Relations / Communication:
Interact with associates on multiple shifts, address issues, and provide coaching for development. - Recruiting decisions and workforce actions:
Recommend and make decisions regarding hiring, discipline, terminations, transfers, and promotions with managerial guidance as appropriate; enforce policies and lead daily KPI huddles.
- Other:
Participate in R&D engineering activities and new product launches; approve time for full-time and temporary staff; manage department roster, cross-training, and evacuation plan; write safety documentation (JSA/SOPs, near-miss and incident reports); verify ECO documentation; review and reconcile purchasing card transactions; participate in audits and root-cause problem solving with preventive actions.

This position is available at two different career levels based on experience, education, etc.
Level II- Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent
- Two (2) years of supervisor or leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or military setting (may be substituted for Associate's degree)
- Two (2) years supervisory or leadership experience; three (3) years working experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent
- Five (5) years of supervisor or leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or military setting (may be substituted for Associate's degree)
- Five (5) years supervisory or leadership experience; four (4) years working experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment
Related military experience may be substituted for up to two years of supervisory and/or work experience.
Education and experience preferred- Level II / Level III - Bachelor’s degree
- Engineering degree
- Professional work-related experience in electronics and sensor manufacturing
- Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and EHS initiatives
- 5+ years manufacturing experience
