The Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounting will be based in Muscat, Oman and will support the Finance & Accounting operations of the Oman business. The role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, working capital management, financial controls, statutory compliance, and coordination with the Shared Service Center (Infosys), customers, vendors, auditors, banks, and government authorities.
How You Will Make an ImpactYou will support the Oman finance function across Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Record-to-Report (R2R), and financial reporting activities. The role will ensure timely collections, accurate accounting, effective controls, and compliance with Daikin Group and local statutory requirements.
Credit & Collections – O2C- Monitor receivables ageing, overdue balances, DSO, and bad debts, and follow up on collection actions.
- Review customer credit limits, payment terms, open-account arrangements, reduce overdue receivables and credit insurance requirements.
- Coordinate with the O2C team and business stakeholders to resolve deductions, short payments, disputes, and aged receivables.
- Ensure customer invoices are accurately submitted through customer portals and coordinate certification and approval where required.
- Issue Statements of Account (SOA), perform customer reconciliations, and resolve account discrepancies.
- Coordinate timely collection of customer payments, cheques, and Letter of Credit (LC) proceeds.
- Manage the LC process, including review of terms, documentation, amendments, and coordination with banks and customers.
- Maintain accurate collection and reconciliation records and support achievement of cash collection targets.
- Identify opportunities to improve O2C processes.
- Assisting in writing and implementation of policies, procedures, SOPs for the credit department and company
- Coordinate day-to-day accounting activities with the Shared Service Center in accordance with Daikin Group policies and delegation of authority.
- Review vendor reconciliations, payment proposals, and aged GR/IR balances and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor invoice processing, approval, coding, and posting through VIM and related systems.
- Support vendor master data governance and ensure timely resolution of vendor and business queries.
- Implement and support business in Vendor portal and associated process
- Review accounting activities and balance sheet account reconciliations performed by the Shared Service Center and follow up on outstanding items.
- Prepare and review non-routine journal entries, bank reconciliations and other month-end closing activities.
- Support VAT reconciliations, statutory filings, and other local tax requirements.
- Monitor revenue recognition and Percentage of Completion (POC) calculations, where applicable, in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
- Support local payment processing, bank guarantees, and related finance administration.
- Perform required J-SOX controls and maintain supporting documentation.
- Review financial reporting outputs, including Flux, BPC, profitability, and other Group Finance reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of required financial reporting deliverables.
- Support internal and external audits and follow up on audit findings.
- Support finance process improvements and other regional or global finance initiatives as required.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities in line with reporting deadlines.
- Coordinate audit requests and provide supporting documentation for internal, statutory, and J-SOX audits.
- Manage banking relationships and oversee banking facilities, account administration, compliance requirements, and account maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline followed by Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Finance & Accounting experience
. - Experience in manufacturing, trading, engineering, construction, or a project-based environment is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP
. - Experience working with a Shared Service Center are preferred.
- Good understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, financial reporting, and month-end closing processes.
- Working knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, J-SOX, VAT, and local statutory requirements
. - Experience in credit management, collections, customer reconciliations, and working capital management.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and advanced formulas;
Power BI knowledge is an advantage. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Good stakeholder management and ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, SSC teams, auditors, and internal departments.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions.
