Head of Building Construction

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading construction contractor for an experienced Building Unit Head to lead the successful delivery of major building construction projects across Oman.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a commercially focused construction professional with a proven track record of delivering large-scale building projects across the GCC. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading multiple projects from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring exceptional performance across safety, quality, programme, commercial, and client satisfaction.

• Lead the Building Division, overseeing the successful delivery of multiple large‑scale building construction projects.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Manage Project Managers, Construction Managers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Oversee project planning, resource allocation, budgets, forecasting, and commercial performance.
• Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and best practice across the division.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, local regulations, company policies, and HSE requirements.
• Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Monitor financial performance, project profitability, and overall business objectives.
• Mentor and develop project teams, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Prepare and present operational and commercial reports to senior leadership.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years' experience delivering major building construction projects.
• Previous experience in a senior leadership role such as Building Unit Head, Operations Manager, Associate Director – Construction.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple large‑scale building construction projects simultaneously.
• Previous GCC building construction experience is essential.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, with experience managing project budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project planning, risk management, and HSE best practices.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment and consistently deliver successful project outcomes.
