Role DescriptionThe Technical Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Muscat, responsible for providing technical support across all stages of construction projects. Day‑to‑day tasks include reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues. The Technical Engineer will assist in planning and scheduling work, monitoring project progress, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
The role also involves conducting site inspections, supporting quantity take‑offs and cost estimates, and contributing to continuous improvement of construction methods and materials. Collaboration, clear communication, and proactive problem‑solving are essential to succeed in this position.
- Strong foundation in civil or structural engineering principles, including understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports using relevant engineering and drafting tools.
- Proficiency in project coordination activities such as scheduling, progress tracking, and documentation to support site and office teams.
- Knowledge of quality control and safety standards, with the ability to support inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to make sound technical judgments under time constraints.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse project stakeholders on‑site in Muscat.
- Previous experience in construction or engineering roles is preferred; familiarity with regional regulations and standards is an advantage.
