Head of Commercial & Contracts Manager
Lead commercial and contracts management for assigned construction/infrastructure projects, ensuring effective cost control and commercial performance.
Review project commercial reports, track financial performance, identify risks and advise project management on corrective actions.
Manage subcontracting activities
, including scope identification, tender documentation, bid evaluation, commercial terms and subcontract awards.
Review and manage bonds, guarantees and insurance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Handle contractual correspondence, notices,
claims, variations and extensions of time
, ensuring the company’s contractual rights and entitlements are protected.
Support project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks and cost/time implications.
Manage final accounts
, incorporating variations, claims and outstanding commercial matters.
Ensure proper commercial and contractual closure of projects, including required completion documentation.
Drive commercial KPIs, productivity targets and financial objectives.
Visit project sites regularly to review commercial and operational issues.
15+ years of overall experience
, with at least 5 years in a Commercial & Contracts Manager / similar managerial role
.
Must have strong experience with a main contractor / construction contracting company
, preferably in large-scale construction, infrastructure, roads or related projects.
Strong hands‑on expertise in commercial management, contracts administration, cost control, subcontracting, claims, variations and final accounts
.
Good understanding of FIDIC contracts and Oman Conditions of Contract (Oman CoC).
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or a related built-environment discipline
.
Master’s degree and certifications in Contract Administration, Project Management, Arbitration or Contract Law would be an advantage.
Membership of RICS, CIOB, AIQS or CIArb is preferred.
Strong negotiation, communication, commercial analysis, contract drafting and stakeholder‑management skills.
Excellent documentation, reporting and record‑keeping abilities with strong IT skills.
