We are looking for a Contracts Manager to join a major development in Oman. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious commercial to work one of the regions best projects.
The successful candidate will have experience across the GCC working on major projects in the development and implementation of FIDIC contracts. They will also have a strong commercial knowledge and understanding.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full contractual lifecycle from contract award through to project completion and final account.
- Administer construction contracts in accordance with contractual requirements, particularly FIDIC forms.
- Review and manage contract terms, obligations, risks and commercial exposure.
- Prepare, review and negotiate contractual correspondence, notices, amendments and agreements.
- Manage variations, claims, extensions of time (EOT), prolongation and disruption claims
. - Review and assess claims submitted by clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure all contractual notices are issued within the required time frames.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential contractual and commercial risks.
- Work closely with planning teams on programme analysis, delay events and EOT submissions.
- Support the commercial team with payment applications, valuations, final accounts and cost control.
- Manage subcontract agreements and ensure compliance with main contract obligations.
- Lead contractual negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
- Assist with dispute avoidance, resolution and, where required, arbitration proceedings.
- Maintain accurate contract registers, claims registers and contractual records.
- Provide regular contractual and commercial reports to senior management.
- Support project teams with contractual interpretation and day-to-day contract administration.
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractual, legal and company requirements.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years' experience, with 10 working in a contracts management role.
- MRICS or equivalent. .
- Consultancy experience in cost management/quantity surveying.
- Strong knowledge of both pre-contract and post-contract services.
- Experience developing FIDIC contracts.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage a large project in a fast-paced environment.
