Overview
The Product Lead UI/UX Design is responsible for driving the design vision, user experience strategy, and product execution across the organization's product portfolio. This role bridges the gap between user needs and business objectives, leading the design direction while collaborating closely with engineering, research, marketing, and customers to create intuitive, engaging, and impactful product experiences.
Design Vision- Define and communicate the product's design vision, UX strategy, and experience roadmap aligned with organizational objectives.
- Champion design thinking and user‑centered methodologies across product development.
- Identify opportunities to elevate user experience through market analysis, user research, and emerging design trends.
- Establish design principles, experience goals, and success metrics to guide product decisions.
- Develop and maintain a design‑driven product roadmap balancing user delight, business requirements, and technical feasibility.
- Lead the end‑to‑end user experience lifecycle from research and ideation through prototyping, testing, and iteration.
- Oversee the creation of wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high‑fidelity designs that meet user needs and brand standards.
- Establish and maintain a cohesive design system, UI component library, and interaction patterns for consistency across products.
- Ensure accessibility, usability, and inclusivity standards are embedded into all product experiences.
- Drive visual design excellence, ensuring products are aesthetically compelling and functionally intuitive.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure seamless translation of designs into functional products.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, marketers, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive product experiences.
- Translate user insights, research findings, and business requirements into actionable design specifications and user stories.
- Prioritize design initiatives and manage the design backlog within agile development processes.
- Facilitate design reviews, critiques, and cross‑functional alignment sessions.
- Monitor progress, resolve design challenges, and ensure timely delivery of product releases.
- Develop a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, motivations, and pain points.
- Lead and conduct user research activities including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and contextual inquiries.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
- Synthesize research findings into actionable insights, personas, journey maps, and opportunity areas.
- Champion a user‑centric culture and advocate for the voice of the user throughout the product lifecycle.
- Define and track key design and experience metrics such as usability scores, task completion rates, NPS, and user satisfaction.
- Analyze product usage, user feedback, and behavioral data to identify UX improvement opportunities.
- Drive continuous design optimization, innovation, and experience enhancements.
- Stay current with industry trends, design tools, and best practices to evolve the team's capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Product Design, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications in UX/UI design, design thinking, or product management is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in UI/UX design, product design, or design leadership roles.
- Demonstrated track record of leading design for digital products from concept to launch.
- Experience managing design strategy, roadmaps, and cross‑functional delivery.
- Strong portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end product design work, design systems, and user‑centered solutions.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Proto Pie, Principle, InVision).
- Solid understanding of user research methodologies and usability testing techniques.
- Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, color, layout, and interaction design.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire design talent.
- Familiarity with agile development processes and design‑engineering collaboration.
