Part‑Time Librarian (Muscat, Oman)

We are in need of a dedicated and organized Part‑Time Librarian to join our library team in Muscat, Oman. This part‑time role offers flexible hours, ideal for someone looking to supplement income or gain experience in librarianship.

• Provide assistance and guidance to library patrons in locating and accessing information
• Manage circulation desk duties including checking materials in and out, collecting fines, and registering new users
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions
• Organize and catalog new materials using the Dewey Decimal System
• Assist with collection development by recommending new materials for purchase
• Plan and conduct programs and events for library users such as story times or book clubs
• Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls and responding to emails

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
• Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work well with others
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System and other library cataloging methods
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Fluency in English (Arabic language skills are a plus)
• Must have own visa or residency permit in Oman

Salary:
This part‑time position pays 1000 $ per month.
