Business Studies Teacher
Overview
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Business Studies lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum. Develop lesson plans that meet curriculum objectives and students' learning needs. Use a variety of effective teaching strategies and assessment methods. Prepare, administer and mark assignments, tests, and examinations. Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate academic records. Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Participate in school meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress when required. Comply with all school policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.
Notable responsibilities include planning, delivering, and assessing lessons; maintaining records; fostering a supportive classroom climate; and engaging with parents and school communities.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business Studies, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
- A recognized teaching qualification such as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), PGCE, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, or an equivalent teaching certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in Business Studies.
- Experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level curriculum or another recognized international curriculum is preferred.
- Experience preparing students for international examinations.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge Assessment International Education curriculum.
- Ability to teach both IGCSE and AS/A Level Business Studies.
- Experience with project-based learning and student-centered teaching approaches.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams.
- Valid teaching license (where applicable).
- Professional certifications or training in teaching, assessment, or educational technology.
- Safeguarding and Child Protection training.
