Position
English‑speaking Librarian – Muscat, Oman
About the RoleWe are hiring an English‑speaking librarian to manage the library, its resources, and provide assistance to patrons. This is a full‑time position with a monthly salary of 1,100
USD.
- Manage day‑to‑day library operations, including cataloging, shelving, and inventory maintenance.
- Provide reference assistance and research support to patrons.
- Promote library resources and services through social media and other channels.
- Plan and organize community events, such as book clubs or author talks.
- Develop collection policies and recommend new materials for acquisition.
- Train volunteers and staff on library procedures and policies.
- Stay current on emerging library technology to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work full‑time and on weekends if required.
Previous experience in a library setting is a plus but not required.
