Thisis a predominantly teaching-focused position to manage and support the delivery of postgraduate undergraduate foundation and executive programmes within the Faculty of Business and Management Applicants should demonstrate excellence in assisting teaching and research Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in teaching tutoring student supervision and research engagement The successful candidate is expected to
Assist in TeachingSupport the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in subjects related to business and management including areas such as accounting finance marketing human resource management management entrepreneurship economics business analytics operations and related disciplines Engagement with classes tutorials and student support activities is expected across both semesters 2 semesters per academic year
Supervise ProjectsAssist in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects dissertations business consultancy projects and other academic assignments across relevant modules The GTA will provide students with guidance on research methodologies academic writing data analysis problem-solving and project outcomes
Engage in ResearchWork with research supervisors and academic staff to assist in research activities that contribute to the research goals and priorities of the Faculty of Business and Management
Collaborate for GrantsSupport the development of research collaborations and contribute to research grant applications consultancy activities and other initiatives that enhance the Faculty s research profile and funding capabilities
Curriculum DevelopmentParticipate in curriculum development module enhancement assessment design and graduate supervision while supporting initiatives that strengthen the Faculty s academic programmes and employability outcomes
Community EngagementParticipate in university service activities as well as professional and local community engagement promoting the importance and relevance of business management and entrepreneurship education

Educational QualificationsMuscat University alumni with relevant undergraduate and or postgraduate qualifications in Business Management Accounting Finance Marketing Economics Human Resource Management Entrepreneurship Business Analytics or closely related disciplines
Teaching ExperiencePreference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching tutoring or supporting undergraduate and or postgraduate business and management courses as well as experience supervising students and academic projects
Research EngagementPreference will be given to candidates with experience or engagement in research within their areas of specialization demonstrating intellectual engagement with current trends challenges and developments in business and management
Practical SkillsCandidates should possess strong computing and digital skills relevant to their areas of expertise including proficiency in Microsoft Office and where applicable business analytics statistical accounting financial or research software
CertificationsProfessional or industry certifications are an advantage and demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development
ResponsibilitiesReport to the academic director of the relevant Faculty Department line manager Complete an annual report and submit it to the line manager Following the shadowing period 1 year take a lead role in seminar tutorial and related teaching activities for the shadowed modules while continuing to attend the relevant lectures Assist with assessment marking moderation activities where appropriate and entering grades on the university system Support discussion sections tutorials seminars workshops and other teaching and learning activities Assist with student projects dissertations case studies presentations and other forms of coursework Attend relevant faculty and programme meetings Assist students with coursework academic study strategies research methods data analysis and problem-solving Address routine student concerns and refer serious or sensitive matters to the relevant instructor or academic director Set up and support software technology teaching materials and other resources required for classes workshops and demonstrations Take attendance and…
