nationalities Reference Librarian - Muscat, Oman

The Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing research assistance and reference services to library patrons in a dynamic and diverse community in Muscat, Oman. This individual will also assist in collection development, coordinate outreach programs, and provide instruction and training to library users.

• Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons in person, over the phone, and via email
• Develop and maintain reference collections and resources
• Plan and coordinate outreach programs to promote library services
• Develop instructional materials and provide training to library users on research techniques and resources
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop and maintain specialized collections
• Assist with collection development by evaluating current collections and making recommendations for additions or removals
• Stay current with trends in information literacy, technology, and online resources
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills

• Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a librarian, preferably in a reference or research role
• Strong knowledge of information literacy principles, research methodologies, and reference resources
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues
• Willingness to adapt to the needs of a diverse community of library users
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred but not required
• Willingness to relocate to Muscat if not already located there

Salary: $1800/month
