An established international school in Sur, Oman, is seeking a passionate, creative and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join its team as soon as possible.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated educator who can inspire students through music, develop their musical talents and foster a lifelong appreciation of music and the performing arts. The successful candidate will create engaging and inclusive learning experiences that encourage creativity, confidence, collaboration and self-expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons across the relevant year groups.
- Develop students’ understanding of musical concepts, including rhythm, melody, harmony, notation and musical expression.
- Provide opportunities for students to explore singing, instrumental performance, composition and music appreciation.
- Encourage creativity, confidence and collaboration through practical music-making activities.
- Organise and support musical performances, concerts, assemblies and other school events.
- Differentiate lessons to accommodate students with varying abilities, interests and levels of musical experience.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support musical development.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-organised learning environment.
- Ensure musical instruments, equipment and teaching resources are used safely and maintained appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support wider school activities and enrichment programmes.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, student welfare and professional conduct.
Position Requirements
Bachelor,
3+ Years
work experience Candidate Requirements
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as a
B.Ed. or PGCE, preferably specialising in Music. - A degree in Music, Music Education or a related discipline.
- Previous experience teaching music in an international school or multicultural educational setting is desirable.
- Strong musical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as singing, instrumental performance, composition or music theory.
- The ability to engage and motivate students through creative, student-centred teaching approaches.
- Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
- A flexible, collaborative approach and a willingness to contribute to school performances and extracurricular activities.
- A genuine passion for helping students develop their musical abilities and confidence.
- Availability to start immediately or at the earliest possible date.
