CASALUX is the new luxury showroom of Mediterranean Gate Business & Trading LLC (MGBT), a multi-brand Omani business group headquartered in Muscat. As the exclusive agent in the Sultanate of Oman for a curated portfolio of premium Italian and Spanish porcelain, tile and interior finishing brands, CASALUX offers collections that are not available anywhere else in the country. Alongside surfaces, the showroom presents complete interior solutions, including architectural and decorative lighting and fully integrated smart-home systems, for clients who expect the finest in design and living technology.

We are looking for a Lighting & Smart Home Design Engineer to lead low-voltage lighting design and smart-home solutions for our clients' projects and for the showroom itself. You will translate interiors into lighting concepts, plan layouts and circuits, specify LED drivers, dimming and control systems, and design the smart-home ecosystem that ties lighting, curtains, climate, audio, security and scenes together into one seamless experience.

You will deliver technical drawings and documentation that contractors can build from, and work closely with our Interior Designer
- Sales team to present solutions to clients and support the sale from concept to commissioning.

This is a role for an engineer who combines a designer's eye for light with solid technical command of low-voltage LED systems and smart-home automation.

Lighting Design & Concept Development

• Develop lighting concepts for residential, hospitality and commercial projects that complement the client's tile, surface and interior design scheme.
• Define lighting layers (ambient, accent, task and decorative), colour temperature, CRI, beam angles, lux levels and glare control for every space, including façades, landscapes and wet areas.
• Select luminaires, LED strips, profiles, spotlights, linear systems and decorative fittings from the showroom's brand portfolio, matching the aesthetic and budget of each project.
• Prepare mood boards, lighting renders and visualisations (DIALux, Relux, Sketch Up, 3ds Max or equivalent) to help clients and designers visualise the result.

Smart Home Design & Integration

• Design complete smart-home solutions covering lighting control, motorised curtains and blinds, HVAC and climate control, multi-room audio, video intercom, access control, CCTV, sensors and energy monitoring.
• Define the system architecture: wired vs. wireless topology (KNX, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, RF, Matter), hubs and gateways, network requirements, panels, switches and keypads, and integration with voice assistants and mobile apps.
• Prepare smart-home schematics, device schedules, wiring and point-to-point diagrams, and control-panel layouts in coordination with the electrical and ELV design of the project.
• Design lighting and living scenes (welcome, dining, cinema, night, away) and configure automation logic, schedules and sensor-based triggers.
• Programme, test and commission smart-home systems on site, and train clients on using their system.
• Act as the technical authority for the smart-home brands represented by CASALUX, staying current on firmware, new devices and integrations.

Technical Layout & Documentation

• Produce lighting layout drawings, circuit and zoning plans, driver and power-supply schedules, and cable routing in AutoCAD / Revit.
• Perform photometric and load calculations; size LED drivers, transformers, dimmers and control modules correctly.
• Prepare complete bills of quantities, technical specifications and datasheets for lighting and smart-home packages for quotation and procurement.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical and safety standards (IEC / Omani regulations, IP ratings for wet and outdoor areas) and coordinate with the client's MEP and ELV consultants where required.

Lighting Control Systems

• Design dimming and control solutions (0-10V, DALI, TRIAC, RGBW / tunable white, KNX or wireless) fully integrated with the client's smart-home ecosystem.
