We are seeking a skilled Draftsman (Civil / MEP) to join our engineering and project teams. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, high-quality drawings that support the successful execution of construction projects.
The Draftsman will prepare, revise, and manage shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings while collaborating closely with site engineers, project managers, and consultants. This is a full-time, on-site role in Muscat, Oman, with preference for candidates with Oman or GCC experience.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings in accordance with project specifications and requirements
- Revise drawings based on consultant/client comments and site conditions
- Coordinate closely with site engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure drawing accuracy and constructability
- Maintain drawing registers and document control for all project drawings
- Ensure compliance with design standards, codes, and specifications
- Support the design team in resolving technical queries and site-related drawing issues
- Collaborate with MEP, Civil, and Structural teams to integrate drawings and prevent clashes
- Assist in preparing drawing packages for submission to clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities
- Keep updated on the latest software tools and construction drafting standards (AutoCAD, Revit/BIM)
- Collaborate with project engineers and site teams to resolve design conflicts and implement on-site changes in drawings
- Prepare and update Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and material take-offs based on finalized drawings
- Assist in conducting site surveys and measurements to ensure drawings accurately reflect field conditions
- Review contractor and subcontractor drawings for compliance with project specifications and standards
- Maintain a version-controlled drawing archive to ensure traceability and easy access for project teams
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, MEP, or Drafting
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in construction drafting
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (knowledge of BIM/Revit is a plus)
- Experience preparing shop drawings and coordination drawings for civil or MEP projects
- Knowledge of construction methods, codes, and standards
- Strong coordination, communication, and documentation skills
