Overview

Join The Chedi Muscat and lead our dynamic engineering department as our next Director of Engineering. In this vital role, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering operations in a prestigious 5-star luxury hospitality environment. As part of our team in The Chedi Muscat, you'll work in an onsite setting, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and ensuring excellence in every aspect of facility management, maintenance, and guest experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, and civil systems.
  • Maintain all property assets to the highest 5-star standards, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.
  • Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental protocols across the property.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors for specialist works and compliance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to maintain regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support special projects, renovations, and strategic initiatives.
Must Have Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering leadership roles within 5-star luxury hospitality service.
  • Very good command of English (spoken and written).
  • Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of building systems, hotel operations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical teams and large-scale maintenance programs.
Nice To Have Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Arabic language.
  • Experience working in the Middle East hospitality sector.
  • Advanced credentials or certifications in building management or sustainability.
