Overview
Develop, integrate and maintain the project's master schedule across all phases from pre‑FID through commissioning of the 2.5 Mtpa green Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) / Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) plant in Duqm, Oman. Provide the Project Director, the company executive and the project's lenders with the integrated schedule view that supports decision‑making, risk management and financial close.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain the project's master schedule, integrating inputs from the technology licensor, the integrated delivery partner, equipment vendors, utility providers, port authorities and Omani regulatory counter parties.
- Consume and integrate the technology licensor's pre‑engineering Level 2 schedule and the integrated delivery partner's FEED and execution schedules into a single owner's master schedule.
- Manage interface dates and critical path dependencies across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, utility connections, port readiness and regulatory approvals.
- Maintain the project schedule baseline and track progress against baseline through earned value or equivalent reporting methods.
- Lead schedule risk analysis, including critical path analysis, float consumption tracking, and schedule contingency assessment.
- Prepare schedule reports for internal review, lender reporting and external stakeholder engagement, including the Project Director, the company executive, the lender consortium, and equity investors.
- Support the project's cost estimate development by providing schedule‑driven inputs into resource and cost loading.
- Support the project's risk management process by identifying schedule risks and supporting mitigation planning.
- Provide planning support to the discipline lead engineers in their interactions with the integrated delivery partner and equipment vendors.
- Maintain alignment between the project schedule and the project's regulatory, permitting and contractual milestones.
- Minimum 12 years' experience in project planning and scheduling on large heavy industrial capital projects, with at least one project of capex value USD 500 million or above.
- Direct experience on greenfield projects in steel, ironmaking, petrochemical, oil and gas, fertilizer or power.
- Demonstrated experience integrating multi‑party schedules across owner, technology licensor, EPC contractors and equipment vendors.
- Strong understanding of critical path methodology, schedule risk analysis and earned value management.
- Proficiency in industry‑standard scheduling software (Primavera P6 required; MS Project an advantage).
- Experience supporting project finance lender due diligence on schedule deliverables is strongly preferred.
- Middle East or GCC project delivery experience strongly preferred. Prior experience in Oman is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate schedule status and risk to senior executive and lender audiences.
- Ability to work within a small owner's team where each individual carries direct responsibility for their function.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline (required).
- Master's degree in Project Management, Construction Management or related field (preferred).
- Project Management Professional (PMP), AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP), or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
- Primavera P6 certification (preferred).
