Wood is recruiting for a Lead Project Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the activities and processes associated with Project Engineering in the NGL Acceleration Project including discipline input for Pipeline, Materials and Construction for the project as well as the Marjan Project.
Apply and expand hands‑on experience on all provided technical expertise in terms of materials, corrosion & degradation mechanisms as well as mitigation plans & standards during facility and project life cycle phases and aspects for oil & gas industry. Additionally, manage and provide the necessary support for managing and resolving internal and external interfaces with stakeholders.

Responsibilities- Responsible for the material engineering/selection for various projects ensuring cost‑effectiveness and fit for the job.
- Develop corrosion control plans and mitigation strategies as well as inspection and monitoring plans.
- Perform coating qualifications and procedures including reviewing and writing.
- Responsible for reviewing material databases, managing documents, reviewing data and recommending action.
- Prepare materials and welding qualification and procedures including PQRs and WPSs.
- Responsible for material examinations, testing and NDT inspections with specific assurance to compliance to company recognised / industry standards.
- Responsible for coating qualification and selection for the particular services/environment.
- Support integrity programmes like Risk Based Inspections and Process Safety Programs and ensure project compliance with Company standards in that matter.
- Ensure compliance to HSE and QA/QC plans as part of design and material engineering/selection.
- Implement and qualify HSE requirements coming under area of responsibility.
- Development of local young engineers and providing development programmes.
- Wide materials experience for various services in oil and gas industry including refinery.
- Skills with industry materials types, limits, optimum usage and how they perform.
- Ability to recommend cost‑effective selections based on performance history and project application.
- Good knowledge in relevant specifications (also related and non‑metallic and composite materials).
- Experience in material selection, specification, testing and inspection of carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, duplex and super duplex, Inconel, design, maintenance and failure investigation.
- Make sure that all designs adhere to industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Resolve any technical challenges or conflicts that arise during the FEED/DD phase.
- Work with the team to identify technical, financial, and schedule risks at the FEED/DD stage.
- Formulate and implement risk management plans to mitigate potential issues that could affect project delivery.
- Help the procurement team with the selection of suppliers and vendors based on technical specifications and project requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear and continuous communication throughout the FEED/DD stage.
- Deliver presentations to stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and senior management, to ensure alignment on project objectives and progress.
