Stafford Lawrence are recruiting for an international multidisciplinary consultancy to identify two proficient Drainage Design Engineers to join their established technical team in Oman
.
These positions are designed for ambitious professionals at an intermediate career stage, 5–8 years of experience, who are ready to take technical ownership of assignments and transition toward senior-level leadership. You will contribute to the delivery of critical stormwater and drainage infrastructure through advanced hydrological assessment and hydraulic design.

The Role
- Drainage Design Engineer Oman
- Hydrological Assessment: Undertake comprehensive assessments using GIS and industry software such as HEC-RAS, SSA, StormCAD, SWMM to determine catchment characteristics and design flow rates.
- Hydraulic Design: Lead the sizing and design of drainage conveyance systems, including complex stormwater pipe networks and open channels.
- Technical Documentation: Produce detailed design documentation and construction-ready drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (alignments, profiles, grading, and pipe networks).
- Client Interface: Deliver professional presentations and lead technical discussions, articulating design methodologies and recommendations clearly to international clients.
- Reporting: Prepare logically structured technical memoranda and design reports in English to a high professional standard.
- Experience: 5–8 years of professional experience in drainage engineering, specifically within an engineering consultancy environment.
- Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential. You must also be competent in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, SewerGEMS, or StormCAD
. We are seeking candidates with Advanced or Super User credentials in these softwares. - Technical
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to carry out hydrological assessments using GIS and recognized modeling applications. - Communication: Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory for high-level technical reporting and client-facing duties.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related construction discipline. A postgraduate qualification in Water Resources or Hydrology is highly desirable.
