Job SummaryThe Planning Engineer will be responsible for overall planning, scheduling, monitoring, and coordination of multiple fit‑out and contracting projects. This role serves as the central point of contact for project progress and performance, ensuring management has accurate and up‑to‑date information regarding project status, milestones, risks, delays, resource allocation, cash flow and payment tracking.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules for multiple fit‑out and contracting projects.
- Prepare baseline programs, recovery plans, look‑ahead schedules, and revised project schedules as required.
- Track project progress against approved schedules and identify potential delays or risks.
- Monitor and report the status of all ongoing projects, including planning, procurement, execution, handover, and closeout stages.
- Act as the primary source of project information for management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, quantity surveyors, and finance departments to obtain accurate project updates.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Monitor project milestones, critical paths, and resource utilization.
- Identify schedule deviations and recommend corrective actions to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain complete visibility of all projects under management, including current project stage, progress percentage, key achievements, pending activities, risks and concerns, procurement status, payment and billing status, variation orders and claims, and expected completion dates.
- Monitor contractor, subcontractor, and supplier performance against project schedules.
- Assist management in project forecasting, resource planning, and workload distribution.
- Support tender planning by preparing preliminary schedules and manpower histograms when required.
- Ensure all project planning records and documentation are properly maintained and updated.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5‑6 years of experience as a Planning Engineer.
- Proven experience in interior fit‑out, contracting, construction, or turnkey projects.
- Experience managing and monitoring multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle management from initiation to handover.
- Experience working on large‑scale commercial, hospitality, retail, residential, or mixed‑use projects is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Power BI and project reporting tools is an advantage.
- Understanding of project cost control and cash flow monitoring.
- Knowledge of procurement tracking and resource planning.
- Strong planning and scheduling capabilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong reporting and presentation skills.
The successful candidate will have complete visibility across all company projects and be able to answer management queries regarding project status, progress, concerns, delays, resource requirements, procurement updates, and payment status at any given time. This role is critical in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on schedule, and in line with company objectives.
