Every weld on a pressure part is a safety boundary. You decide how each one is made, qualified, and proven.
ATMTA is establishing a High Precision Training, Research, Development, and Production Center for the energy sector. We manufacture mission critical, precision engineered components for the Energy industry, built to perform under extreme pressure, temperature, and corrosion where failure is not an option, machined and tested to the highest precision and made intelligent with embedded sensing and AI.
We are hiring a Senior Welding Engineer, on site in Muscat, to own welding engineering for the components the Energy sector trusts under pressure.
What you'll doOwn welding across the plant, from procedure and metallurgy to qualification, on every joint that has to hold.
Key Responsibilities- Own the welding engineering function in production, joining, build up, and overlay, on critical oil and gas components such as valves, wellheads, trees, and manifolds
- Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS and PQR) across GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, SAW, and PAW, including automated and robotic welding on tier one systems such as Fronius, Lincoln Electric, or Polysoude
- Qualify procedures and welders to ASME Section IX, with construction to ASME Section VIII and consumables to ASME Section II Part C, and to the welding requirements of API 6A and API 6D under API Q1
- Own welding metallurgy for carbon, stainless, duplex, and nickel alloys to ASTM specifications, with sour service to NACE MR0175 (ISO 15156), controlling heat input, preheat, interpass, and post weld heat treatment
- Manage welder qualification (WQT), continuity, and welding records with full traceability
- Set weld maps, consumables, and acceptance criteria, and coordinate NDE to ASME Section V across UT, RT, MPI, and LPI
- Develop apprentice welding engineers and welders through structured on the job training, transferring procedure development, metallurgy, and qualification practice
- Define competency standards and qualification milestones that turn apprentices into certified welding talent
- You have owned welding engineering in a production fabrication environment for pressure containing or critical work
- You write and qualify WPS and PQR, and you know welding metallurgy across carbon, stainless, duplex, and nickel alloys
- You are fluent in ASME, API, and ASTM, qualifying to specific codes such as ASME Section IX, ASME Section VIII, API 6A, and API 6D, with NACE MR0175 sour service
- You have engineered automated or robotic welding on tier one systems such as Fronius or Lincoln Electric
- You manage welder qualification and continuity, and you keep airtight records
- You take pride in developing welders and engineers, and growing local capability
- You hold a degree in Welding, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering, and ideally a credential such as CWI, CSWIP, or IWE
- Bonus points for oil and gas, valves, wellheads, or subsea equipment
- Fluency in English required
If you own the welds that hold the energy sector together under pressure, own them here. Apply.
