Experience- Minimum 15 years related experience in an engineering design firm.
- Minimum 10 years of experience designing oil & gas facilities.
- Extensive front‑end and detailed design experience.
- Proven experience in AutoCAD and E3D.
- Good spoken and written English and PC literate.
- Experience managing a pool of designers/draftspersons and planning tasks to meet schedules.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively review drawings prepared by designers in the same discipline.
- 3D CAD skills and experience in E3D.
- Understand and meet design quality system requirements.
- Ensure work adheres to relevant codes, standards and procedures.
- Participate in site visits to gather existing data.
- Produce accurate, presentable drawings and conduct consistency checks.
- Check interface between disciplines at all stages of design.
- Apply Company Standards, Shell Group DEP’s and international standards.
- Understand non‑standard vendor documentation and its interface points with Company engineering documents.
- Produce 2‑D drawings from E3D.
- Carry out lighting design calculations in Dialux.
- Prepare material take‑off (MTO).
- Make design decisions based on acceptable quality for the custodian.
- Train and encourage development of Omani personnel to fulfil draftsperson and designer roles.
- Implement company and client/projection policies and procedures.
- Check and prepare design/engineering documentation.
- Undertake surveys necessary for assigned work areas.
- Liaise with other disciplines, departments, project personnel and vendors.
- Ensure all design drawings and documents are complete within allocated hours and programme.
- Prepare detailed drawings and documents to the engineer’s requirements.
- Ensure all discipline design interfaces are clearly defined.
Minimum HND / ITI / Diploma in Engineering.
