Responsibilities- Manage the department and drive its development at strategic, tactical and operational levels, acquire new commissions based on the Balanced Score Card (BSC) / Operational Plan and contribute to MEC profitability.
- Act as the Materials, Corrosion & Integrity Head and the technical authority for the discipline.
- Support the development of local talent and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Formulate and implement the annual BSC and Operational Plan (OP) in coordination with the Engineering Director and ensure its execution.
- Prepare and regularly adjust personal and departmental work plans to achieve maximum capacity utilisation.
- Maintain and grow client relationships, identify new opportunities, and replenish the order portfolio in line with MEC strategy.
- Report regularly to the Engineering/Technical Director on capacity utilisation, work in progress and financial/operational status of the department.
- Manage human resources: develop coaching and mentoring programmes, establish Technical Authority levels, and ensure appropriate staffing in compliance with HR policy.
- Ensure quality, safety, health, well-being and environmental standards through the MEC Quality System (MQS) and ISO compliance.
- Implement and maintain the Quality and HSE Management System in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 29001:2020, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
- Ensure contractual quality and HSE requirements are met in design, engineering and project execution.
- Assume the role of technical authority (TA/1 or DA1) for the discipline, coordinate communication within the department and with other teams to guarantee technical quality.
- Adhere to the MEC Compliance System (CMS), internal control systems and company work ethics.
- Master’s or Engineering degree in Metallurgical / Materials / Corrosion Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional and intellectual level: holds Technical Authority Level 2 or above, and is a Chartered Member of a professional institute.
- At least 15 years of core work in Materials, Corrosion & Integrity, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
- Knowledge and experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
- Extensive experience in engineering design or operations (Concept / FEED / Detailed Design & Operations).
- Knowledge and experience in discipline-specific compliance and quality systems.
