Cost Accountant

National Aluminum Products Co. SAOG based in Muscat, is one of the fastest growing and leading aluminium extrusion companies in the Middle East with an annual production capacity in excess of 36,000 MT.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs, controlling budgets, and supporting management with accurate financial data to improve efficiency and profitability.

• Establish and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, overhead, and secondary finishing processes.
• Analyze actual costs versus standard costs; investigate variances by die, product line, or order.
• Review and update standard cost rolls annually to reflect changes in product design and material pricing.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems for both process-based and job-based costing.
• Design and implement activity-based costing (ABC) models for extrusion processes and product variants.
• Manage cost rollouts and ensure seamless integration with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).
• Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production and variance reports.
• Monitor cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reserves; reconcile finished goods accurately.
• Validate cost of goods sold (COGS) and generate gross margin reports by profile, customer, or plant.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts for the plant.
• Support monthly and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, ledger reconciliations, and inventory adjustments.
• Conduct variance analyses and provide cost-volume-profit (CVP) insights into management.
• Collaborate with production teams to align Bills of Materials (BOMs) and control production variances.
• Partner with manufacturing to minimize scrap, optimize tooling utilization, and enhance cost efficiency.
• Recommend process improvements, identify cost drivers, and support product pricing strategies.
• Maintain robust internal controls, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and prepare audit documentation.
• Guarantee accuracy and adherence to International Accounting Standards (IAS) and relevant guidelines.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional qualification (CMA / ACCA / CPA) is an advantage
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant cost accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial analysis
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication and reporting skills
