The Nursing Assistant / Healthcare Assistant will support nurses and healthcare professionals in providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care. The role involves assisting patients with daily activities, maintaining hygiene and comfort, monitoring basic patient needs, and supporting the clinical team in delivering effective healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nurses and healthcare professionals in providing day-to-day patient care.
- Support patients with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, feeding, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' condition, behaviour, comfort, or general wellbeing to the nursing team.
- Assist with taking and recording basic patient observations as directed by qualified nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
- Assist with patient positioning, transfers, mobility, and transportation within the healthcare facility.
- Support nurses during routine procedures and clinical activities as instructed.
- Ensure patients' comfort, dignity, privacy, and safety are maintained at all times.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including appropriate use of PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of patient-care equipment and supplies.
- Assist with documentation and reporting of patient care activities as required.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients, families, nurses, and other healthcare staff.
- Follow hospital/facility policies, MOH regulations, health and safety standards, and professional guidelines.
- Perform other duties related to patient care as assigned by the supervising nurse or healthcare management.
- Diploma/Certificate in Nursing Assistance, Healthcare Assistance, Patient Care, or a relevant healthcare-related qualification.
- Relevant healthcare experience as a Nursing Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Patient Care Assistant, or similar role is preferred.
- Dataflow verification must be completed for:
- Educational Qualification
- Professional License, where applicable
- Employment Experience
- Prometric examination is not required.
- Candidate must attend and successfully pass the Oman MOH Viva Examination.
- Good knowledge of basic patient care, hygiene, infection control, and healthcare safety practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Immediate joiners are preferred.
- Candidates must meet the applicable Oman Ministry of Health (MOH) licensing and eligibility requirements.
- Dataflow verification completed for Qualification, License, and Experience.
- No Prometric Examination required.
- Successful completion of the MOH Viva Examination is mandatory.
