Lead or Senior Functional Consultant – Student Information System (SIS)

In this role, you will lead the consulting and implementation of Student Information Systems for OSOS's valued customers worldwide, tailored to their operational and business needs. The Lead Functional Consultant will manage end-to-end Student Information System implementations, including requirements gathering, system configuration and customization, data migration, user training, testing, go‑live support, and post‑implementation assistance. You will also collaborate with the presales and support teams and work closely with the Product Owner to identify enhancement and optimization opportunities within the Student Information System.

Additionally, you will mentor junior consultants and provide thought leadership in the SIS domain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead SIS demonstrations, discovery workshops, and requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into functional designs, user stories, and solution specifications aligned with best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation of core SIS modules, including:
  • Admissions
  • Grades & Assessments
  • Timetabling
  • Student Support Services
  • Reporting & Analytics
End-to-End Project Management
  • Manage the full project lifecycle, including:
  • Integration with external systems
  • Testing (SIT/UAT)
  • User training and onboarding
  • Go‑live and post‑implementation support (hypercare)
  • Ensure successful delivery within scope, timeline, and quality standards
Adoption, Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive user adoption and change management initiatives
  • Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization and enhancement
  • Continuously improve processes to ensure the SIS evolves with business needs
  • Mentor and guide junior functional consultants, building capability and ensuring delivery excellence
  • Collaborate closely with:
  • Presales (solutioning and demos)
  • Product teams (roadmap and enhancements)
  • Technical teams (integration and customization)
  • Support teams (post‑go‑live stability)
Documentation & Stakeholder Communication
  • Develop high‑quality documentation, including:
  • Business process maps
  • Functional specifications
  • User stories and acceptance criteria
  • Present insights, solutions, and recommendations to stakeholders at all organizational levels
Mobility
  • Travel as required to support project delivery, client engagement, and workshops
Domain Knowledge & Expertise
  • Strong understanding of Student Information System (SIS) workflows, academic operations, and regulatory frameworks
  • In‑depth experience in:
  • Enrollment lifecycle
  • Grading & assessments
  • Scheduling & timetabling
  • Attendance tracking and reporting
  • Familiarity with SIS deployment models:
  • SaaS
  • Cloud‑based
  • Knowledge of integrations with enterprise systems such as:
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Finance systems
  • HR systems
  • Understanding of best practices in:
  • Customization within SIS environments
AI Awareness & Digital Enablement
  • Stay informed on emerging AI technologies and their impact on enterprise and SIS solutions
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes through AI‑driven tools and automation

Experience
  • 7+ years of hands‑on experience in Student Information System (SIS) implementation or consulting.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a lead or senior consultant role overseeing SIS projects.
  • Successful completion of 3–5 full end‑to‑end SIS implementation life cycles.

Exposure to ERP‑integrated student information solutions and cross‑module functionality.

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor of Computer Science/ Software Eng. / IT
  • Business Analysis Certification (CBAP) is a plus.
  • SIS/Edtech specific certifications are a plus.
