Education:
Bachelor's or Master's — Data Science, Computer Science, GIS, Environmental Informatics, Ecology, Statistics or related
Experience:≥3 years
Role summary:Manages, processes and analyses biodiversity data across BDMS — integrates multi-source data, ensures quality, produces indicators, and supports decision-making via dashboards/reports. Works closely with the SME, GIS specialists and developers.
Key responsibilities (compact):- Design/maintain automated ETL/ELT pipelines (internal DBs, field surveys, sensors, camera traps, GPS, satellite imagery, third-party APIs)
- Data quality: validation, cleansing, normalization, deduplication, spatial processing
- Implement & automate biodiversity indicator formulas (regulatory aligned)
- Scheduled/ad-hoc reporting — PDF, Excel, Word, JSON, XML
- Interactive dashboards & geospatial visualization (maps, heatmaps, trend charts)
- Prepare/label/version AI-ML training datasets (camera-trap species , acoustic recognition, habitat-change detection); integrate model outputs into BDMS
- Database administration support, backup & disaster recovery
- Technical documentation: data dictionaries, ETL workflows, reporting methodology
- Cross-functional collaboration with biodiversity experts/technical teams
- SQL / relational databases, PostgreSQL / PostGIS
- ETL / ELT design & data integration
- GIS concepts & spatial data analysis
- Large environmental / geospatial dataset management
- Data visualization / dashboarding (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- AI/ML dataset preparation & labelling
- Environmental or biodiversity dataset familiarity (advantage)
