Lead Data Management | Grade 7 | Stream Operated Assets | Function Subsurface & Operation 60 & 48‑Subsurface Data Management | Location Oman – Muscat | Budget control: OPEX and/or CAPEX and/or Revenue amount as relevant | Reporting to Manager Data Management | Direct reports: n/a.

Provide strong technical support on Data Management at Upstream Operated Assets – Planning & Performance under Manager Data Management scope. Act as expert owner of Data Management standards, interface with vendors, government, and stakeholders to support planning and performance objectives.

• Execute end‑to‑end process for the maintenance of all existing Subsurface Databases.
• Execute end‑to‑end process for well and reservoir data in shared drives.
• Work with vendors to receive QC, store and publish the relevant Well Log and Reservoir data.
• Ensure and participate in development and implementation of the upstream technical data operating model, data frameworks (e.g., governance, quality, etc.) guidelines, roadmaps, data standards and best practices while maintaining the highest standards of data quality, accessibility, extraction and connectivity to the upstream Petro technical applications.
• Define and govern the data stewardship for the company upstream technical data to ensure compliance with data governance, enhance data quality and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company data assets.
• Participate in the development of the upstream technical data strategy, governance initiatives, activities, policies, procedures, structures, roles and responsibilities to serve the upstream data users across OQEP and maximize the upstream technical data’s full potential.
• Promote awareness of general data management principles across the organization through knowledge‑sharing channels such as awareness sessions, training, etc.
• Develop and execute data science projects using machine learning and other data science analysis techniques.
• Work with vendors on new technologies related to data analysis and AI.

Office environment; moderate to intensive computer screen use.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or engineering, preferably in a subsurface discipline; postgraduate degree preferable.
• 8+ years of experience in information technology and relevant business disciplines.
• Excellent written, read and spoken English (required). Arabic – native (desirable).
• Experience in Document Management applications such as Documentum D2.
• Experience in WebGIS application.
• Experience handling large data sets, live data sources and different data types.
• Experience with machine learning, neural networks and AI.
• Detail‑oriented, interpersonal, reliable, problem‑solving, organizational, strong written and verbal communication, presentation skills, encouragement of engagement, organized, flexible attitude to work assignments.
• Computer literacy including MS Office.
• Experience in Python and/or other coding languages; SAP experience a plus; APEX/SQL experience a plus; C++ and Java major plus; mobile app development a major plus.
