Kal Soft is looking for an experienced Senior Network Security Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in enterprise network infrastructure, network security, routing & switching, cybersecurity, and network operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining highly available network environments while ensuring optimal performance, business continuity, and compliance with security standards.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining highly available network environments while ensuring optimal performance, business continuity, and compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day network operations for the Tax Authority and Business Units
  • Design, deploy, operate, document, and maintain a functional network infrastructure
  • Establish, operate, maintain, and coordinate the use of Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs)
  • Manage enterprise network infrastructure including switching, routing, ISP connectivity, hardware, software, and related network equipment
  • Identify work priorities and ensure effective communication within the team and with external partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure business area satisfaction through regular interaction, managing expectations, understanding service level requirements, and delivering projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Supervise vendor performance and contractor resources, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with contractual terms and conditions
  • Apply critical thinking along with project management disciplines, tools, and techniques in daily operations, resource planning, and workload management
  • Follow incident management processes and procedures while providing valuable feedback and root cause analysis (RCA) to improve operational processes
  • Manage routine maintenance activities, technology obsolescence, contracts, suppliers, service providers, and ensure SLA compliance for new service provisioning
  • Advise on the procurement of network equipment and software
  • Maintain and manage the network security environment by identifying new technologies, performing security patching, monitoring malware protection systems, and maintaining awareness of emerging security threats
  • Ensure network and communication hardware and software inventories remain accurate and up to date
  • Maintain software licensing records and support contract documentation
  • Develop and enforce network change management and change control procedures
  • Assess compatibility and business impact before implementing new equipment or infrastructure changes
  • Respond promptly to network outages and performance issues by performing required repairs and configuration changes
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for system outages and scheduled maintenance activities as required
  • Design, develop, implement, and manage network services that meet current and future business requirements while enhancing the existing network architecture
  • Monitor network utilization trends, manage network performance, and ensure maximum system availability
  • Ensure firmware updates, software upgrades, and security patches are applied to all network devices in a timely manner
  • Review and maintain network security controls and monitoring mechanisms
  • Ensure monitoring tools are implemented across all networks within the Tax Authority and Business Units
  • Be available to work at any location related to the Tax Authority and Business Units as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Professional qualification or certification from a recognized IT professional body is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network architecture and implementation
  • Experience in the transport and logistics industry is preferred
  • Experience with network security best practices and threat modelling
