Job Description & How to Apply Below

Goodman Masson is partnering with a new financial markets infrastructure venture under formation in Oman. Backed by prominent institutional investors, the business is building a greenfield post-trade platform from the ground up and is now hiring during the build phase.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business at the start of its journey, helping establish critical financial market infrastructure before taking ownership of its ongoing production support.

The Role

We are looking for an Application Support Specialist with strong Linux expertise and certification
, ideally with experience supporting applications within banking, financial services or capital markets
.

You will be responsible for the operational health and stability of the post-trade platform in production, covering settlement, registry, corporate actions, reconciliation, integrations and messaging.

During the build phase, you will help establish the support framework, processes and tooling required to operate the platform effectively. Once live, you will take ownership of the day-to-day application support function, ensuring issues are identified, managed and resolved before they impact settlement or market participants.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line application support across settlement, registry, clearing and corporate actions.
  • Monitor production processes across trade, settlement, corporate actions and reconciliation, proactively identifying and resolving exceptions.
  • Own incident, problem and root‑cause management
, acting as the technical lead during major incidents.
  • Support and monitor messaging and integration interfaces, including SWIFT, ISO 15022 and ISO 20022
    .
  • Investigate and resolve application, messaging and interface failures.
  • Own the batch processing environment and enterprise scheduling, ensuring critical processes run within settlement‑day deadlines.
  • Develop production monitoring, support procedures, runbooks and escalation processes.
  • Help design and establish the run‑phase application support model
    .
  • Work closely with technology, operations, vendors and business stakeholders to maintain a resilient production environment.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and development of the future application support team.
What You’ll Bring
  • 6–10 years’ experience in application or production support
, ideally within banking, financial services or capital markets.
  • Strong hands‑on Linux/Unix experience
, with Linux certification strongly preferred
    .
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting critical production applications in a financial services environment.
  • Good understanding of the post‑trade lifecycle
, including settlement, clearing, corporate actions and reconciliations.
  • Exposure to multiple asset classes, ideally equities, fixed income and derivatives
    .
  • Experience supporting SWIFT ISO 15022 and/or ISO 20022 messaging environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise schedulers such as Control‑M or Auto Sys
    .
  • Strong SQL and scripting capabilities
, ideally including Shell and/or Python.
  • Experience with production monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Understanding of ITIL‑aligned incident, problem and change management
    .
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
Desirable Experience

The following would be particularly valuable:

  • Experience supporting a financial market infrastructure
, such as a central securities depository, central counter party, exchange or settlement system.
  • Experience with a central securities depository or clearing platform
    .
  • Familiarity with the CPMI‑IOSCO Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures
, particularly operational risk and resilience.
  • ITIL certification
    .
  • Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, Shell or similar technologies
    .
  • Experience working in environments where system availability, settlement finality and operational resilience are critical.
Location and terms

Based in Muscat, Oman. Permanent for Omani nationals; two‑year fixed‑term contract for expatriate hires. Omani nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
