We are seeking an experienced, onsite Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage and support a large-scale Test & Development database environment (100+ databases) for a banking sector client. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Oracle DBA with strong RAC, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high-availability expertise, comfortable working within a regulated banking environment and flexible working hours aligned to business needs.
Administer, configure, and upgrade Oracle GI/DBMS software on RHEL/IBM-AIX platforms in line with version and change control procedures. Lead migration of databases from standalone to RAC architecture, applying security baselines and integration requirements. Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance; execute daily health checks and proactive maintenance routines. Own backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to meet defined RPO/RTO targets, including periodic recovery drills.
Manage problem investigation, root-cause diagnosis, and resolution through a formal problem management process. Forecast database and infrastructure growth; plan for storage optimization, data retention, and cleanup. Design and implement failover/high-availability solutions. Maintain documentation, knowledge base, and QMS process artifacts; report regularly to the supervisor/customer stakeholders.
