Data Protection Officer (Omani Candidates Only) – Job Code: 196-2025/4

The Data Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring Omran's compliance with data protection laws and regulations, protecting sensitive data, and implementing policies and procedures to enhance data privacy and security. This role includes overseeing data governance, assessing risks related to data processing, and fostering a culture of privacy awareness within Omran and its subsidiaries. The Data Protection Officer serves as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders on data protection matters.

• Developing, implementing and maintaining data protection policies and procedures for Omran Company.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant data protection laws (e.g., Oman Data Protection Law, General Data Protection Regulation, and International Privacy Regulations).
• Monitoring changes in data protection regulations and assessing their impact on Omran Company.
• Acting as a key liaison with regulatory authorities and legal bodies regarding data protection compliance
• Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate data protection risks.
• Supervising Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for projects involving the processing of personal data.
• Working with IT, legal and business units to implement data protection controls.
• Ensure that the collection, storage, processing and sharing of data comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitoring the data processing activities of third parties to ensure compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
• Collaborating with cybersecurity teams to enhance data security measures.

• Developing and implementing procedures for responding to data breaches and security incidents.
• Investigating data breaches, coordinating response efforts, and reporting incidents to regulators as needed.
• Ensuring that lessons learned from incidents are incorporated into enhanced data protection measures.
• Developing and delivering data protection training programs for employees.
• Promoting a culture of data privacy awareness at all levels of the organization.
• Providing guidance to employees on best practices for data protection.
• Maintaining records of data processing activities, risk assessments, and compliance reports.
• Preparing reports for senior management regarding data protection compliance and risk levels.
• Supporting internal and external audits related to data protection.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Law, or Business Administration.
• At least 6 years of experience in data protection, risk management or a related field.
• Experience in business continuity planning and crisis management.
