OverviewDevelop, review, and update HSE policies based on lessons learned and relevant environmental/labour law conditions in Oman to ensure all ESBAAR employees follow them.
Budgets and PlansContribute to the preparation of the HSE department budget and monitor financial performance versus budget, identifying and rectifying unsatisfactory performance and capitalizing on improvement opportunities.
Sign-off and ClosureSign off the closure of deviations, discrepancies, non‑compliances, and responses to emergencies, ensuring mitigation steps are taken and issues resolved, including recovery of affected resources.
Conduct preliminary investigations of incidents at company locations (e.g., examining sites, questioning witnesses, identifying causes, reporting).
Training and AwarenessProvide environmental training and awareness sessions to maintain and increase readiness and competency of personnel to respond to emergencies. Plan and oversee emergency training implementation so employees are aware of response actions.
Risk AssessmentOversee and guide the HSE Department on implementing techniques and analyses to assess environmental, health, and safety risks, identify hazards, and provide mitigation proposals.
Human Capital ManagementAchieve objectives by setting individual goals, managing performance, developing staff, and providing feedback to maximize performance and motivation.
AuditsReview and guide the development of relevant documents to support internal and external auditors in completing their work.
CollaborationCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders on health and safety matters to update HSE policies and procedures and raise employee awareness.
ReportsPrepare timely and accurate HSE departmental reports to meet ESBAAR policies and standards.
Policies, Systems, Processes & ProceduresDirect development and implementation of administrative policies, systems, processes, procedures, and controls in collaboration with other departments.
Quality, Health, Safety, & EnvironmentEnsure compliance with all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the department.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in science/engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
- 7–10 years’ experience in HSE, including 2–4 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience in the oil & gas industry.
Job‑Specific Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of security, health, safety, and fire and rescue system processes and protocols.
