Role Description The Intensive Care Nurse will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in an intensive care unit setting in Muscat. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, monitoring vital signs, managing ventilators and other life-support equipment, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams on care plans. The nurse will respond to emergencies, perform complex procedures within their scope of practice, document patient status accurately, and communicate clearly with patients’ families.
The role includes participation in quality improvement initiatives, adherence to infection control and safety protocols, and support for continuous learning in critical care practice. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Muscat.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in general Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to deliver patient-centered care in an acute hospital setting.
- Demonstrated experience in Critical Care Nursing and Critical Care Medicine, including management of ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients.
- Skills in Emergency Nursing, with competence in rapid assessment, triage, and response to life-threatening situations.
- Current nursing license or eligibility for licensure in the relevant jurisdiction, with recognized credentials for practice in Muscat.
- Previous experience in an intensive care or high-acuity unit, preferably in a tertiary care hospital.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient safety, infection control, and continuous professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or equivalent) required; advanced certification in critical care nursing is an asset.
