ATMTA is establishing a High Precision Training, Research, Development, and Production Center for the energy sector. We manufacture mission critical, precision engineered components for the oil and gas industry, built to perform under extreme pressure, temperature, and corrosion where failure is not an option, machined and tested to the highest precision and made intelligent with embedded sensing and AI.
We are hiring a Senior Quality Engineer, on site in Muscat, to own the quality engineering that proves every component meets code before it ever leaves the floor.
What you’ll doOwn the quality system and the evidence, so every part is proven to code before it ships.
Key Responsibilities- Own the quality engineering function across production, from incoming material to final acceptance, under an API Q1 and ISO 9001 quality management system
- Run product quality planning, APQP, control plans, and first article inspection (FAI), with PPAP style approval for critical oil and gas components
- Review and disposition material certifications and mill test reports (MTRs) to ASTM specifications, including heat traceability and positive material identification
- Verify compliance to the governing codes, API 6A, API 6D and 6
DSS, API 600 and 602, and ASME B16.34, with valve testing to API 598 and sour service to NACE MR0175 (ISO 15156) - Own nonconformance (NCR), root cause and corrective action (CAPA and 8D), concessions, and continuous improvement
- Drive supplier quality, source inspection, and approval of forgings, castings, and outsourced special processes such as heat treatment and coating
- Build and maintain the full traceability and certification package, material, dimensional, NDE, and test records, ready for client and third‑party release
- Develop apprentice quality engineers through structured on‑the‑job training, transferring code interpretation, inspection planning, and problem solving toward full competency
- You have owned quality engineering in a manufacturing production environment, not audited it from a desk
- You know API Q1 and ISO 9001 in practice, and you run APQP, FAI, NCR, and CAPA day to day
- You are fluent in API, ASME, and ASTM, working to specific codes such as API 6A, API 6D, ASME B16.34, and API 598
- You read drawings and GD&T fluently to ASME Y14.5, and you interpret material and welding requirements with confidence
- You drive root cause to closure, and you write corrective actions that actually hold
- You enjoy developing people, and you can grow a capable quality engineer from an apprentice
- You hold a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Quality Engineering, and ideally a credential such as ASQ CQE
- Bonus points for oil and gas, valves, wellheads, or API monogrammed manufacturing
- Fluency in English required
