Job Title: Quality Engineer – ElectricalRole Overview :
A Quality Engineer – Electrical is responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems, components, and installations meet project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring quality control processes, identifying non-conformities, and ensuring compliance with international standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform inspections of electrical systems including cables, panels, transformers, switch gear, and control systems
- Ensure installation activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards
- Monitor electrical works during installation, testing, and commissioning phases
- Conduct quality checks for cable laying, termination, panel wiring, and earthing systems
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical documents
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and project-specific requirements
- Witness testing activities such as insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, functional tests, and energization
- Identify defects, non-conformities, and deviations; recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, test records, and quality documentation
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams, engineers, contractors, and clients for inspection activities
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards
- Support internal and external audits related to electrical quality
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical quality inspection or QA/QC roles
- Experience in construction, oil & gas, power, or industrial projects preferred
- Familiarity with Oman project standards and regulations is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation practices, and testing procedures
- Good understanding of QA/QC processes and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications
- Knowledge of international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation tools
