Job SummaryThe CBT Welding Inspector (TPI) will act as an independent third-party representative to ensure that all welding and fabrication activities for offshore structures are executed in full compliance with client specifications, international standards, and project quality requirements. The role involves unbiased inspection, verification, and reporting to the client.
Required Qualifications & Certifications- Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI or equivalent (Mandatory).
- CBT Certification (as per client/project requirements).
- Knowledge of international codes and offshore fabrication standards.
- 5–10 years in welding inspection.
- Mandatory experience in Third Party Inspection (TPI) assignments.
- Strong background in offshore structures (jackets, topsides, modules) fabricated in onshore yards.
- Experience in GCC (preferably Oman) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in welding processes: SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW.
- Strong understanding of fit-up tolerances and structural fabrication.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and weld maps.
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation systems.
- High integrity and impartiality (critical for TPI role).
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Effective communication with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Willing to work in onshore yard environments.
- Ability to work under strict timelines and quality requirements.
- Immediate availability preferred.
