Senior Mechanical Quality Control Engineer

EDECS is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Quality Control Engineer to ensure the effective implementation of the Project Quality Plan (PQP), monitor project activities for compliance with quality standards and specifications, and oversee mechanical quality control processes to ensure the successful delivery of project requirements.

• Review project specifications, drawings, and method statements, and prepare the required inspection and testing checklists.
• Maintain quality records as specified in the relevant Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and contract documents, ensuring all original records are handed over to the Document and Data Controller.
• Monitor and verify the revision status of drawings used on-site by construction teams and subcontractors to ensure that superseded drawings are not used.

• Conduct daily site inspections and walkthroughs in accordance with the relevant Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Receive Requests for Inspection (RFIs) and coordinate with the consultant and site team to follow up on inspection results.
• Ensure completed works conform to approved drawings, project specifications, and quality requirements and are ready for final inspection by the Site Supervision Consultant.
• Monitor inspection status and follow up on actions required for resubmission, ensuring all corrective actions are completed before resubmitting the work for inspection.

• Monitor storage areas and ensure materials and equipment are properly stored and protected against damage or deterioration.
• Report unacceptable storage practices to the Project Quality Manager and follow up on the implementation of the required corrective actions.

• Ensure technical and quality-related training is conducted for site teams and subcontractors.
• Attend quality control meetings and coordinate with relevant project stakeholders to address quality-related issues and ensure compliance with project requirements.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the related field
• Proven experience in implementing Project Quality Plans (PQPs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Experience in reviewing mechanical drawings, project specifications, method statements, and material submittals.
• Good understanding of quality assurance and quality control procedures, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Ability to verify compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and contract requirements.
• Knowledge of material handling, storage, preservation, and site quality control procedures.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to manage multiple inspections and follow up on corrective actions effectively
