Research Assistant/Associate, Research Analyst, Market Research, Research Scientist
Majan Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support its research and policy advisory activities across key thematic areas.
This role is designed as an entry point into applied research within a “think-and-do” environment, where academic knowledge is translated into practical insights and real-world impact. The Research Assistant will work closely with senior researchers and fellows, contributing to ongoing projects, reports, and publications, while engaging in multidisciplinary work spanning economic policy, energy transition, industrial development, and strategic affairs.
The position offers an opportunity to build strong research capabilities and gain exposure to high-impact projects aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and regional development priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in collecting, organizing, and validating qualitative and quantitative data
- Conduct background research, literature reviews, and desk-based analysis
- Support economic, policy, and sectoral analysis
- Assist in interpreting findings and identifying key insights
- Contribute to drafting reports, policy briefs, presentations, and research outputs
- Support ongoing research projects and consultancy assignments
- Assist in preparing materials for workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagements
- Support documentation, note-taking, and follow-up actions
- Organize research materials, datasets, and project documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outputs
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Political Economy, Engineering, Energy, or a related field
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Good research and data handling capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to structure information clearly and logically
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated interest in policy, sustainability, energy, or economic development
- Arabic is an advantage
