Background / Organizational Context
The World Bank Group Oman Country Management Unit (CMU) works to support the Government of Oman in advancing economic diversification, private‑sector growth, human capital development, and sustainable development aligned with Oman Vision 2040. Oman is highly vulnerable to climate change and has committed to net‑zero greenhouse‑gas emissions by 2050, pursuing a large‑scale renewable‑energy transition, hydrogen production, and reforms to reduce dependence on oil and gas.
The WBG Oman CMU supports the Government’s climate agenda through analytical work, policy dialogue, and reimbursable assistance addressing climate mitigation and adaptation. The Climate Intern will contribute to the CMU’s public‑facing climate knowledge and engagement work, supporting research, written outputs, and communications that advance understanding of climate risks and solutions.
Under the supervision of the Country Management Unit team, the intern will support climate‑related analytical, knowledge, and communications activities across the WBG Oman portfolio.
