Do you see yourself as an Executive Chef for Inter Continental Muscat? As the Executive Chef at Inter Continental Muscat, you will report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage and lead the culinary vision for this iconic beachfront luxury hotel.
This is a highly hands‑on role for a Chef passionate about cooking, where you will actively oversee all kitchen operations across its diverse signature outlets—including international cuisine at Musandam, Japanese at Takara, Italian at Tomato, Arabic at Mynah’s Edge, Trader Vic’s, Tr.Eat café—as well as extensive banquets/outside catering, in‑room dining, and events. You will craft innovative menus that seamlessly blend global excellence with authentic Omani and Middle Eastern flavours, using premium local ingredients to deliver exceptional quality, presentation, and memorable guest experiences while upholding Inter Continental’s highest standards of luxury hospitality in a sophisticated resort setting.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy:
Develop and implement the overall culinary vision and strategy aligned with IHG brand standards. Innovate menus emphasizing European cuisines (Italian & French), seasonal ingredients, and premium guest experiences. - Quality & Standards:
Monitor raw and cooked food products for quality, flavour, and presentation. Ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation, and brand safety standards (e.g., HACCP). Ensure consistent high‑quality food production, presentation, and innovation. - Collaboration & Guest Focus:
Partner with F&B leadership on concept development, brand initiatives, events, and elevating guest experiences by supporting hotel departments (Front Office, Banquets, Catering, Sales). - Financial & Quality Control:
Manage food costs, inventory, and profitability while upholding world‑class standards. Participate in budgeting and track performance goals. - Team Development:
Guide, mentor, train, and develop staff (including direct reports). Conduct performance appraisals, handle discipline, and foster a collaborative culture.
Additional duties often include menu innovation, inventory/purchasing management, and supporting special events or brand partnerships.
Requirements- Experience:
10–12+ years in progressive culinary roles, with significant time in luxury hotels or residences. Executive Chef or equivalent senior level preferred. - Expertise:
Strong passion and background in European cuisine (Italian, French); proven creativity in menu engineering and innovation. - Skills:
Exceptional leadership, team development, financial acumen, and operational management. Ability to deliver premium guest service and meet high standards (e.g., Forbes). - Education:
Culinary degree or equivalent professional training. - Other:
Fluency in English;
Arabic is a plus.
