Job Summary
A hotel plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining all plumbing systems to ensure they are functional, safe, and compliant with regulations. Key duties include fixing leaks, unclogging drains, performing preventive maintenance on fixtures and water heaters, and responding to emergencies to ensure guest comfort and seamless hotel operations.
Responsibilities- Installation and repair:
Install new plumbing, pipes, and fixtures like toilets, sinks, and showers; repair leaks, clogs, and broken pipes. - Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on systems including water heaters, drainage systems, and sprinklers to prevent malfunctions. - Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and fix issues, which can include using diagnostic equipment to find leaks. - Inspections:
Regularly inspect systems to identify potential problems and ensure everything is working correctly and safely. - Compliance:
Ensure all work complies with current building codes, safety regulations, and hotel standards. - Record keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all work performed, materials used, and time spent. - Emergency response:
Respond quickly to plumbing emergencies to minimize disruption to guests. - Coordination:
Coordinate with other hotel departments, contractors, and staff as needed.
- Technical skills:
Proficiency in plumbing installation, repair techniques, and understanding blueprints and schematics. - Problem-solving:
Strong ability to troubleshoot and find effective solutions to complex plumbing issues. - Physical ability:
Must be able to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various conditions. - Safety awareness:
Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to use tools and equipment safely. - Communication:
Ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, and potentially guests.
