We are seeking a skilled Software Testing Engineer to join our dynamic IT services team in Muscat, Oman. As a vital part of our development process, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create effective testing strategies that align with our project goals.
Your role will involve not just identifying bugs and issues, but also contributing to the overall improvement of our software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Design and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on software requirements and specifications.Execute functional, regression, and performance testing to ensure software quality and reliability.Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the product and provide feedback on usability and functionality.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve software quality.Develop automated test scripts and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency.Conduct risk assessments and provide insights on potential impacts to project timelines and deliverables.Stay updated with the latest testing tools, trends, and technologies to continuously improve testing processes.Provide training and support to junior testers and contribute to a knowledge‑sharing culture.Prepare and present test summary reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.Preferred Candidate
Proven experience as a Software Testing Engineer or similar role, preferably in the IT services industry.Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).Familiarity with various testing methodologies, including black‑box, white‑box, and automated testing.Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# for test automation.Knowledge of testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and tools.Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.Skills

Proficiency in developing and executing automated test scripts using tools like Selenium or JUnit, which enhances testing efficiency and accuracy. - Bug Tracking:
Experience with bug tracking systems such as JIRA or Bugzilla to document and track software defects effectively, ensuring timely resolution. - Analytical
Skills:
Strong analytical abilities to identify issues and provide actionable insights that contribute to software quality improvements. - Collaboration:
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development process.
