A Truck Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating truck‑mounted cranes to lift, move, load, unload, and position heavy materials and equipment. The role involves handling a wide range of cargo, including containers, project cargo, pipes, steel structures, machinery, and construction materials while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and lifting plans.
Key Responsibilities- Operate truck‑mounted cranes safely and efficiently in construction, industrial, logistics, and port environments.
- Load, unload, lift, and position containers, project cargo, pipes, steel beams, machinery, and other heavy equipment.
- Conduct pre‑operational inspections of the crane, outriggers, wire ropes, hooks, slings, and lifting accessories.
- Read and interpret load charts, lift plans, and work instructions to determine safe lifting capacities.
- Set up crane outriggers and ensure proper ground stability before lifting operations.
- Coordinate with riggers, signalmen, supervisors, and site personnel during lifting activities.
- Perform tandem and critical lifts when authorized and in accordance with approved lifting procedures.
- Transport the crane safely between work locations while complying with traffic regulations.
- Monitor load movement to prevent swinging, shifting, or unsafe conditions.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report equipment defects or mechanical issues.
- Maintain lifting records, inspection reports, and operational logs.
- Adhere to company safety policies, client requirements, and industry standards.
- Experience in lifting and handling:
- Shipping containers
- Project cargo and oversized loads

- Minimum experience operating truck‑mounted cranes in construction, logistics, oil & gas, or port operations.

- Ability to inspect lifting gear and identify potential hazards.
