Stanley Consultants is seeking a Mechanical / Chemical Engineer-In-Training 1 to work in our Muscatine, IA office. This position is an entry level college graduate position performing less complex functions which require the application of standard mechanical engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in performing a sequence of related engineering tasks. Candidate will develop an understanding of mechanical systems for a variety of project types including building mechanical systems, district & central heating and chilled water plants, campus-type utility distribution systems, industrial/process facilities, power and infrastructure retrofits and upgrades, and other energy infrastructure projects.

The projects are of varying sizes and locations.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Assists in the collection and analysis of data from reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and photographs, to plan and design projects.
  • Prepares and checks design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Assists in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs for projects.
  • Assists designers/technicians. Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Performs occasional field observations and data collection assignments.
  • Adheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience (HVAC).
  • Possess EIT, or able to obtain EIT within 1 year.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in the United States for any length of time without requiring sponsor ship.
Stanley’s Approach to Flexibility

While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or gible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule.

Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
